black people love us dot com

You know what show I love?

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The first episode of this show ever centers around one of the main characters, Charlie, trying to prove he's not racist. He does this by bringing a black girl he just met to a coffee shop, to show off his tolerance level to the barista, and then asked the barista out on a date. Hilarity ensues.

I think this idiotic comedic blunder is addressing a common social problem, of white people showing off their anti-racist attitudes by trying too hard to get black people to like them.

please consult this website for another hilarious tongue in cheek example

  1. haha now that was pretty funny. It is so true though. People are so desperate to show everyone they are not racist that they try and pretend to be somebody that they aren't. Often it is quite amusing to watch.

  2. I agree, people should be happy that they arent racist, but shouldnt have to over compensate for it just so other people know it. I was actually just talking about this type of issue only with gay people. I feel gay people act extra fruity just to show you they arent scared to be gay. Its ridiculous.

  3. I'm wicked annoyed because I just wrote a whole comment to this post and lost it somehow.... anyways... I love Always Sunny. I haven't always been a fan but it has grown on me and now it is by far one of my favorite shows and I look forward to seeing it every week. The plot of the first episode is a great example of the type of humor used in the show. It is honest, edgy and hysterical. Not many shows could get away with the story lines and topics of some always sunny episodes. Thats is part of what makes the show great, it is unlike anything else on TV. If you have never seen it you should deff check it out. You wont be disappointed :)

  4. I agree with you some people do try and over compensate, but sometimes people think they are trying to compensate when they may just ligite be friends with the person.
